The Courses at Orpington
Cray Valley is a good test for golfers of all levels. The course winds up and down the Kent countryside with each hole providing its own unique challenge. Cray Valley has a good selection of Par 3’s, 4’s and 5’s and is also very well maintained all year round.
All of the four courses at the Orpington Golf Centre were opened in the early seventies.
Ruxley Park is a great little venue for visiting and society golfers who want value for money, an enjoyable course that provides a memorable challenge and a simple smile from the staff. Ruxley Park has all of this and more. The course, although relatively short (5203 yards, Par 70), is very well maintained and, with mostly wide greens, provides a few interesting challenges even to mid-handicappers.
The opening nine holes are fairly tight and hilly while the back nine opens out a little more, allowing you to open the shoulders. The most memorable hole at Ruxley Park is the short 10th.
It is uphill and is a club selection nightmare if you happen to be playing into the wind. The main Ruxley Park Golf course is complimented by an 8 hole academy course, ideal for those just beginning the game.
Cray Valley is also complimented by a 9 hole par 32 course which has a good mix of Par 3’s and 4’s for those of you who do not have the time to play a full 18 holes.
